Back to the Bay
The Bay of Fundy Oyster Company is a small family business with a big dream: raise delicious, premium oysters in our ruggedly beautiful ocean backyard.
Cold, clean goodness
We are the only oyster growers in Passamaquoddy Bay and the first commercial oyster fishery on the New Brunswick side of the Bay of Fundy. With deep roots in the area and a family background in fishing, we raise our oysters with a great love of the sea and deep care for our oysters and the local environment.
Exceptional oysters start with top-quality seedlings. Our oysters are grown from top-quality stock sourced from reputable hatcheries. We sustainably raise them in our naturally nutrient-rich waters.
Wild at heart
Our site just off the Fundy coastline is a rugged place where thick fog blankets massive tides that rise and fall up to 28 feet, flooding our bay with more than 2 billion tons of fresh, nutrient-rich water twice every day.
It is a place brimming with life. Gulls and cormorants wheel overhead, and whales breach in sight of our farm, which lies not far offshore the rocky cliffs of Bocabec, New Brunswick.
We are oyster people
Crassostrea virginica, also known as the Eastern Oyster, has been eaten in this area for millennia. Ancient oyster shells have even been found in local Indigenous shell middens.
We’re proud to help return this local species to our Bay.
